A Call to Wonder

I have questions.
Scripture tells us, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.”
The wonder of creation is everywhere, in everything.
So… why don’t we see it?
It’s everywhere I look.
In my garden, in the nest of baby birds tucked into my fern.
In the storm cloud that rolls in every evening now, passing like clockwork.
I pick up a fossil in my driveway- a fossil. The bones of the past, pressed into their own timeline.
My donkeys, who have enough sense to harass me for snacks every day.
Mostly though, I see it in my children.
And now, in my grandchild.
A child is conceived, born, and grows into an adult.
The wonder of that alone will never stop showing me that God’s hand is all over us.
Tiny little fingernails — already designed to protect delicate fingertips.
Teeth, already framed beneath the gums.
A mother’s breast, giving milk for the best start imaginable.
We don’t have to dream it up or strive to call it into existence.
It’s already been done.
And if we don't see it- choose to not see, then Jesus said "If these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out" -Luke19:40
Take time today to see.
To wonder.
Because the Heavens declare, the skies proclaim, and even the rocks are ready to speak.
