A day in the life

Not mine though. I'd bore you to tears. A day in the life of a Christian is what I mean. What's that supposed to look like, how does it differ from a day in the life of a non-believer? It's a burning question, keeping us all up at night, right?

No? Just me?

Okay, well, I personally love those "day in the life/spend the day with me/what I eat in a day," videos on YouTube. Even though it's polished and made pretty for the camera, It feels like a little glimpse into how other people do things.

To answer the question, what super power would I choose, it'll have to be invisibility, so that I can watch people. Not in a creepy, peeping Tom way, just in a regular, what are you doing, kinda way. Maybe that is a little creepy.

Like, what are you choosing to do ,when you have nothing to do? What does your algorithm look like? You are hungry, are you going to grab something quick or will you cook? What's in the fridge? What's on the TV? What products are you using?

The answers to those questions would give us a good idea on who someone is.

But not what's in your heart. The things you think throughout the day. How you react to situations. Your grief and desires. The hidden parts.

The Bible has a lot to say about how we are to conduct ourselves on a day to day basis. Not just outwardly, but who we are inwardly. The tone of our thoughts and direction of our desires. Our heart posture.

Our daily habits don't necessarily reflect that.

A day in the life of a Christian doesn't always look different. It's a mindset. It's about choosing, moment by moment, to do our very best to align with God's will in a world that pulls in the opposite direction.

A prayer before our feet ever hit the floor

Renewing the mind with scripture

Seeking God in daily decision making

Denying the desires of the flesh

Seeing people as God sees them(it changes everything)

"They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not ask that You take them out of the world, but that You keep them from the evil one." -John 17:14-16

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." =Romans 12:2

"Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." -Colossians 3:2

So what does life look like if you are a Christian? The Bible says it'll be known in "our fruit."

What kind are we producing? Love instead of lashing out in anger. Patience through our frustrations and disappointments. Gentleness in the face of rage and hate. While the world chases pleasure and control, we look to the Spirit to lead us into peace, humility and unity with one another. The flesh desires to be happy while the Spirit desires to be Holy.

The Acts of the flesh come naturally. The fruit of the Spirit come supernaturally.
