This week, I learned how to do some basic plumbing and even mixed garden vinegar in a sprayer and sprayed! Not impressed? Well, I'm pretty proud of myself. As the weeks pass and I learn new skills, I find that my level of overwhelm is shrinking. I have more confidence that I CAN do it. And if not, I'll figure it out. I even rigged a weedeater that was missing a part and got it going good enough to get the job done.
Go me!
It's been super dry and all the grass is dying. I have a little kiddie pool that I keep filled for the donkeys, and when I went out, I noticed it was bone dry. I hadn't paid much attention since it rained enough earlier this summer to keep things going, but now everything is thirsty. I filled it back up and immediately, insects came in for a drink. Wasp, butterflies, dragonflies. I felt sorry for them and made sure that the bird baths were also filled. It's now raining buckets.
I also filled the hummingbird feeder and now watch them daily from my swing. They are funny little things, constantly fussing at me and at each other.
We cleaned up the front garden and, as usual, I made the kids wear shoes and gloves while I ignored my own advice. I've been paying for that decision ever since with thorns and ant bites on both hands and feet. I'd like to say I've learned my lesson but probably not.
What I'm seeing
Much needed rain, pouring down for hours.
What I'm pondering
The Lords supper and 1 Corinthians 11: 28-30. Serious stuff.
What I'm thankful for
The help I'll be receiving soon to get some things done around the property, the things I can't do alone.
What I'm cooking
A roast that turned into a big pot of soup with cornbread.
This weekend, I plan to cook nothing at all, a nice little break.
What I'm looking forward to
Wedding planning!
What I'm praying for
Deliverance from patterns and habits most likely rooted in childhood. With God, all things are possible.
What I'm hearing
Rain and worship music. What a beautiful combo.
